Fun game! VERY Happy for Koekkoek! We've definitely found the scoring touch out of the gates. Now need to tighten up the D. Can't be giving up 4 goals a game!

Thanks! Out of all the pics I took last night, this one was definitely my favorite.

I'm not ready to jump on the Killorn train yet.

Yes, I am about to nitpick the guy who got 4 assists last night...

At times Killorn looked great, at other times in this game he seemed like the Killer who vanishes or gives a half-ass attempt at something.

One of the Penguin goals (forget which) happened right after Killorn made a half-assed attempt to flick the puck out of the zone, which was promptly scooped up by a Pen and put in the net. That particular play stuck out in my mind because Killorn's attempt to exit the puck was so weak. I need to go back and watch the video again and see if it's as bad as I remember it now.

Two of his four assists were secondary assists and not exactly highlight reel set-ups.

I would much rather see Killorn putting up points like he did last night, but I am not going to jump on the Killer bandwagon yet. Let's see if he continues this type of play (minus the half-ass clearing attempt) or if he vanishes now for the next month. If this is the same Killorn, he will disappear from the scoresheet for the next 10 games. I hope he proves me wrong.

It's really not him even though his numbers are not very good, the Lightning need to shore up its defense in a hurry. Without Vasy they would be 1-3 or 0-4 to be honest. He has made some great saves and kept them in the games. The defensive breakdowns last night cost them 2 goals, a PP goal and a tip from the front of the net by an unmarked player. Can he get better yes, I think he will and hopefully the D in front of him will get better as well.

Cooper has been playing Hedman around 26-27 minutes and Stralman around 22-23 minutes a night. I would like to see the other D step up some more and take on a few more shifts from our top 2.

How many non-Pens - Lightning games do you attend at Amalie each year now that you no longer work there? At some point you had to start liking the Lightning in some capacity.

Zero lol I spent 5-6 years there 5-6 days a week... I don't need to do go inside that building anymore lol

To be honest, I'd go if I didn't have to pay for tickets... you'd think 6 years of employment would get you some random tickets to games... but nahhhh they don't give out poop.

I'm more of the mindset that I like specific players on opposing teams (Kuch and Hedman are 2 of my favorite players in the league.) But in terms of seeing other TEAMS succeed? Nahhhhh. I don't care lol I'd rather see individual players succeed. Like... say the Pens miss or lose in the playoffs? I usually want Ovi to win a cup to shut all the critics up. It's annoying when I hear "Ovi can't win a cup." Because their are 19 other guys playing. I feel bad for him sometimes. Best goal scorer of his generation and he gets SO much poop.

I can see that, too bad the Lightning never did anything for its employees I too root for certain players but Ovi is not one of them, awesome player but just a fan of his. But if I moved from Tampa to somewhere else I would go to the games if they had a tem be it NHL, AHL, ECHL, etc., I love hockey live - TV doesn't do it justice.

Did you grow up in Pennsylvania or here in Florida?

I know so many people who root for say Boston or New York or Philly, etc. but were born and raised here in Florida but don't like the local Florida teams. I don't understand it unless their parents forced them to like their old state team or maybe they liked a particular player and that made them a fan of another team.

My father transplanted from upstate New York and he is a die hard Rangers/Giants/Yankee fan but me and my brother were born here in Florida and he never forced his team on us and said root for the team you want and well considering I was in Tampa and had so much access to the Bucs then Lightning then Rays they are my teams which seems pretty natural to me.

That's usually what it is. People's parents bring them up as fans of their teams, every now and again you get kids that branch off. I grew up in Pittsburgh, moved down to Tampa in 2010. Been a Pens fan since I was like.. 5? I remember watching in my Grandfathers room, rewatching the 91-92 cups on VHS over and over again. If I didn't work there for 6 years I would definitely go to more Lightning games, but in 6 years I "attended" like 250 games lol, not to mention a lot of the times the Pens play on the same nights, so I'd rather watch my team on TV than miss the Pens game to go watch a team I have no invested interest in.

EDIT: Hell, I was a Cowboys fan for like.. 3 years because my Uncle (who was also a Pens fan) would always take me to get autographs and pictures with the Pens as a kid... He had a big influence on me as a hockey fan that I kind of adopted his football team (in Steelers country) until I realized the mistake I had made lol

This Blues game is winnable tonight.

The Blues are my other team, and they are pretty banged up right now. Very top heavy with not much to worry about in their current bottom six.
